Second generation at the lodge
Maj-Lis Marita Klingan owns and runs the lodge today. Her parents, the Klingan couple, took over in 1961. She trained as a nurse and midwife, and came home to keep her childhood home going.
Mamaj the Samoyed joins in most things and likes to greet the guests.
A house with soul
The houses have changed little since they were rebuilt after the war. That is why it matters to look after their soul, and to give guests a journey back in time – at a slower pace than everyday life.
The lodge wants to show the people who made the history here, together with those who carry Sami culture forward today.
You do an impressive job, Maj-Lis, with high quality in everything you do! I warmly recommend your kitchen – fantastic food from local produce.
